FUTURE of FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Past year, we were invited to the EFMC conference in Manchester to present our thoughts on the future of FM. Strategic thinking is one of the challenges of the Facility Manager. Today probably the most important one. Which responsibilities will the Facility Manager have in 5-15-30 years?

CONFERENCE ON ENERGY MANAGEMENT

The 28th of October, PROCOS Spain organized a technical meeting for its clients in Madrid in collaboration with the engineering firm Test-Grupo JG and the architects B/SV. Customers from both public and private sector attended the event around three topics: Energy Efficiency Certificates, new compulsory legal procedures for HVAC systems in Spain and FM added value services.
PROCOS Spain proposed their new FM services presenting the different solutions for the daily management of their buildings. Because of the success, a new meeting will be scheduled soon in Barcelona.

ARCHIBUS IMPLEMENTATION at PORTUGAL TELECOM

Portugal Telecom (PT) is the leading telecommunications and multi-media service provider in the Portuguese market. Its Real Estate property is constituted by approximately 2.000 buildings, from which 400 are managed by PT-PRO.
The implementation of ARCHIBUS was started two years ago. The PT-PRO head office in Lisbon was used for the pilot project, with the implementation of Space Management. Over the last year, the system was migrated to the Enterprise version of ARCHIBUS and two new applications were introduced: Service Desk and On Demand Work.

ARCHIBUS at MASSEN SHOPPING CENTRE

Mid 2008 PROCOS Luxemburg implemented ARCHIBUS at the Massen Shopping Centre in Luxemburg. The shopping centre is approximately 23.000m² including the 20 stores and gas station.
The occupied space per tenant is calculated with the use of AutoCad plans in the Space Management module. In the Real Property & Lease Management module the common costs are encoded and invoiced towards the tenants based on the occupied space.
